Together with this, in the consultation, patients should tell their doctors if they’ve had an MRI carried out recently, if they’ve had radioactive substances injected into their bodies during the last weeks, but also if they suffer from an enlarged prostate, lupus, diabetes, kidney disease, high cholesterol or triglycerides and if they have an allergy to sulfa drugs.

How is Lasix usually taken?

Lasix should be taken exactly as it has been prescribed by the physician, as each person requires a different dosage. With this in mind, do not take more or less of the medicine. When taking the drug, it is important to measure to liquid medicine accurately, as high dosage can lead to problems such as hearing damage. Do keep in mind that from time to time, physicians may change the dosage of their patients, and that the medicine will make users urinate more often, while also encouraging dehydration. In case patients miss a dose, they should take the next one as soon as they remember, or skip the dose in case the next scheduled one is not far away.

What are the general side effects associated with Lasix?

Clinical studies have pointed a couple of side effects, including diarrhoea, dizziness, stomach pain or mild itching. In case more serious side effects such as ringing in the ears, loss of appetite, severe pain, swelling, chest pain occur, users should make sure to contact their doctors as soon as possible.
